Eau Claire (WQOW)- Police have released the name of a man involved in a fatal crash on Hastings Way. 28-year-old Mitchell Steindl of Seymour was killed when the truck he was driving flipped several times.
Press Release from ECPD: On Friday, November 30, 2012, at 12:20 a.m. Eau Claire Police and Fire/Rescue units were dispatched to the 2600 block North Hastings Way reference a crash.
Preliminary investigation into the crash by the Eau Claire Police Department indicates that there was one vehicle involved, a Toyota Tundra. The Toyota was traveling south on North Hastings Way at a high rate of speed. The Toyota passed a vehicle and attempted to exit on the off ramp towards Highway 312/East North Crossing. While doing so, the Toyota struck the curb and subsequently overturned multiple times coming to a rest on its tires.
The Toyota Tundra was driven by an adult male who was the lone occupant. The operator was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as:
