Campton Hills, Ill. (WKOW) -- A Madison woman driving a stolen vehicle causes two crashes in Illinois, killing herself and another driver.
According to The Daily Herald, Campton Hills police responded to a four car crash on Route 38 Saturday night. They determined a vehicle driven by Jennifer Liston, 30, of Madison, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash happened.
Police say Liston was driving in the westbound lane, but passing numerous vehicles in the eastbound lane when she crashed head-on with a car driven by Zachary Bingham, 18. The car Liston was driving then rear-ended another car, which was pushed into the eastbound lane, where it hit a fourth vehicle. Liston and Bingham were killed.
According to the Kane County, Ill. sheriff's office, Liston was involved in a minor hit and run crash in Geneva, Ill. earlier that evening. A sheriff's deputy tried to pull her over, but Liston reportedly fled at a high rate of speed. The officer eventually stopped chasing her, saying it was too dangerous. Her speed was estimated at one point to be 100 miles per hour, according to the Campton Hills police chief.
Police say the car Liston was driving was reported stolen from Wheaton, Ill. and Liston was driving on a suspended driver's license.
