Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - An area visitor's center is asking
for your help in keeping kids warm this winter.
"The Big Bundle Up" is a statewide
campaign to help those less fortunate. The Chippewa Area Visitors Center
is collecting items like gloves, hats, and coats. Adult clothing will go to
starting points, while youth clothing will be donated to Chippewa falls
elementary schools.
"With about sixty
percent of our students being on free and reduced lunches, which means that
they are living close to the poverty level, these are some of the things
families can't afford. So we definitely see a need here at Parkview," said
Parkview Elementary School Principal Samantha Hoyt.
New or gently used items can be
dropped off at the visitor's center during normal business hours. Donations
will be accepted through January 4th. The Menomonie and Eau Claire visitor's centers are also taking
donations.
