Wisconsin (WQOW) - One Wisconsin deer hunt ended Wednesday and a new one begins Thursday.
The muzzle loader hunt for deer is now over. On Thursday a four day statewide antlerless gun hunt begins. Hunters can use their free and $2 antlerless tags in herd control units. But they must have a $12 antlerless tag for regular units.
Bow hunters can also be out but cannot take bucks. The gun hunt ends Sunday evening. The bow hunt continues until January sixth.
Hunters planning to participate in the statewide antlerless hunt, Dec. 6
through Dec. 9, are reminded that only the harvest of antlerless deer is
permitted by both gun and archery hunters statewide. The harvest of antlered
deer by archery hunters in deer management units (DMUs) 7, 29B, 34, 35, 36,
& 39 is not authorized during the statewide December 6-9 antlerless hunt.
