Eau Claire (WQOW) - An edible invention squeezes into
first place at a local competition.
Tracy Lundberg has won the Idea
Challenge, which is put on by the Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corporation.
It's a contest designed to help innovative thinkers market and develop their
products. Lundberg invented flowable food condiment
products. So far, she's managed to serve up sauerkraut and sundried tomato basil pesto
from a bottle.
"My family is at ball
parks in the summer, picnics with family, different venues, tailgating before
games and so many time you don't have some of your favorite condiments handy because you need a utensil or a separate
container. So we wanted to make some of those favorite condiments more
portable, more convenient, and we brought innovation to the consumer,"
says Lundberg.
She was presented with a $5,000 check
to help get her company, BTL Foodgroup, off the ground. The condiment line is
called Expressions of Eau Claire. She
hopes to have her squeezable foods at major food product companies, restaurants,
and retail stores by summer of 2013.
