Polk County (WQOW) - A western Wisconsin man has been charged with murdering his fiancée.
Scott Youngmark, from Milltown, is now charged with first degree intentional homicide.
According to the criminal complaint, Kari Roberts nude body was found early Saturday morning in the home she shared with Youngmark.
Polk County investigators say she had been stabbed and cut and suffered severe head trauma. They also say Youngmark repeatedly gave conflicting statements on what condition she was in when he last saw her and whether he called 911.
Youngmark's mother told detectives he stopped by a house where she was having drinks with friends and told her "I did something bad, I think I killed her". A man at that gathering agreed to go with Youngmark to the home. Investigators say he told them he saw the body, checked for a pulse, and tried to convince Youngmark to call police saying if he didn't do it by morning then the man would call police himself. The man also said that he refused Youngmark's request to help him move the body.
Detectives say a search of Youngmark's mother's apartment turned up blood-stained jeans and other clothing. Detectives also say Youngmark had dried blood on his feet and hands.
Youngmark will be in court on the murder charge on January 7th.
