MADISON (WKOW) -- The University Police Department says it is investigating the death of a bicyclist who died Friday.
Officers were called to the Temin Lake Shore Path just before 3 p.m. Friday. Reports indicated the bicyclist had crashed, was bleeding and was possibly not breathing.
When officers arrived they performed CPR and used a defibrillator in an attempt to save the biker's life.
He was taken to UW Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
UW police say the preliminary investigation indicates the biker had a medical event that caused the bicycle to crash, but they will investigate further.
The name of the bicyclist has not been released because his family is still being notified.
