MADISON (WKOW) -- The holidays are a busy time of year and if you're traveling to see family and friends, we have some tips to ensure your travel journey is smooth.
Brent McHenry from the Dane County Regional Airport joins Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend to give us smooth holiday travels tips at the airport.
Ensure extra time before your flight. If you park in one of the parking lots, plan for the time it takes to find a spot to park and walk to the terminal. Ticketing and security lines may be longer than usual, so plan accordingly.
Save time by printing your boarding pass before you leave for the airport. Always, make sure to check if your flight is canceled or delayed to avoid unnecessary trips.
Travel light and plan to check your bag to avoid the hassle.
If you're traveling with oversized items like golf clubs, skis or snowboards, make sure to check with your airline ahead of time about requirements.
