MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin's Justice Department is preparing to enact a second round of emergency rules for concealed carry in the state.
The agency put emergency rules in place last year for issuing and revoking permits, but those regulations are set to expire December 15.
Permanent regulations drafted by the agency have yet to be approved by the state Assembly and Senate.
Legislative leaders have said they will address the rules after their new session begins in January.
Department of Justice officials say they plan to implement a fresh set of emergency rules identical to the ones currently in place
The agency said it had issued 143,081 permits as of November 25.
