MADISON (WKOW) -- Hundreds took advantage of relatively mild December weather to run in Saturday's annual Jingle Bell Run in Madison.
Organizers say more than 15-hundred people signed up in advance and many more registered the morning of the runs.
The Jingle Bell Run raises money for the Arthritis Foundation.
"Here in the Madison area we provide programs and services from exercise and education, to the events we get to put on to raise awareness, as well," said Marybeth Cottrill with the Arthritis Foundation. "The pain of arthritis... Many people just cover it and go on with their daily lives and they don't know that exercise is the best thing for it. So, this falls right in line with keeping people moving."
Organizers hoped to raise more than $100,000 through the 2012 event.
