Eau Claire (Press Release) - On Friday, December 7, 2012, at 1:06 a.m., Eau Claire Police responded to an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Mega Holiday Store located at 2806 Golf Road in the City of Eau Claire.
Upon arrival Eau Claire Police Department patrol officers secured the crime scene, began the initial investigation and gathered evidence related to the case. The investigation was then turned over to the Eau Claire Police Department Detective Division.
Eau Claire Police Department detectives thoroughly reviewed the details of the robbery, including surveillance video, and promptly identified Bryan E. Hjerleid, 38, of Eau Claire as the suspect in the case.
On Friday, December 7, 2012, at 3:30 p.m., detectives went to Hjerleid's residence at 3713 Maywood Drive in the City of Eau Claire and arrested Hjerleid for Robbery. Hjerleid will appear in Eau Claire County Circuit Court for an initial appearance today, December 10, 2012, at 11 a.m.
The Eau Claire Police Department Detective Division is coordinating with the Lake Hallie Police Department to determine a possible connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Lake Hallie on the same morning.
