Eau Claire (WQOW) - Local art students find out their art is at the head of the class in a nationwide contest.
Donna Walther's art class at Pederson Elementary School in Altoona won Fazoli's National Pasta Art Contest by using pasta to create ornate frames that complement French impressionist artwork.
Last week the class was presented a $2,500 check from Fazoli's.
Walther says she's not quite sure yet how the class will be spending the money but she wants to make sure they spend it wisely. The kids are helping with possible ideas. Walther says right now they're considering display boards, technology or an off-site workshop for the kids and their parents.
The contest, which was for students in grade K-5, began in September. Fazoli's had entries from more than 80 schools from across the country.
