MADISON (WKOW) -- The executive committee of the UW Board of Regents Wednesday will consider a proposed payment of more than $200,000 to UW-Madison Athletic Director Barry Alvarez to compensate him for coaching the Badgers in the 2013 Rose Bowl.
Alvarez is pulling double duty as top administrator and head coach after former coach Bret Bielema left the job last week to accept the head coaching position at the University of Arkansas.
The proposed payment of $217,000 to Alvarez represents one-twelfth of Bielema's salary.
A UW-Madison spokesperson tells 27 News Bielema's last paid day as a UW-Madison employee was Dec. 4.
