Menomonie (WQOW) - A trial begins in connection with the death of a UW-Stout student.
Brad Simon died of head injuries after falling off his bicycle two years ago in Menomonie.
His parents are suing two others who were UW-Stout students at the time. The wrongful death lawsuit alleges that Jared Britton and Jed McGlasson were involved in an altercation with Simon at a Menomonie bar. His parents allege the two men chased Simon and pushed his bike, causing him to crash. A jury later acquitted Britton of murder charges. Prosecutors then dismissed the murder charges against McGlasson.
A jury was selected on Monday to hear the lawsuit. The trial is expected to last all week.
