WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- While the nation's homeless rate has dropped slightly, Wisconsin's has gone up.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released its latest report.
There were 6,027 people reported homeless in 2012 in our state.
That's up from 5,785 in 2011, a 4.2% increase.
Those numbers are compiled during a one-night count across the country in the month of January each year.
