MADISON (WKOW)-- The holidays are here and Dane County Regional Airport officials anticipate the busiest travel days to be December 22, 2012 due to Christmas. As well as, December 28, 2012 and December 29, 2012 due to the Rose Bowl.
Regardless of when you travel via airplane this season, if you're heading out officials have some simple tips to keep you safe and improve the quality of your journey. First, you should allow for extra time before your flight. If you park in one of the DCRA's parking lots, you should plan for the time it takes to find a spot to park and to walk to the terminal. Ticketing and security lines may be longer than usual, sp plan accordingly. You can also save time by printing your boarding pass before you leave for the airport and be sure to check if your flight is canceled or delayed to avoid an unnecessary trip. Also, it's a good idea to travel light. Heavy suitcases can be a hassle and it's difficult to take through crowds during the holiday. If you do have an oversized item, you can check with your airline ahead of time regarding their requirements. Make sure that your items are securely padded and packed before you arrive at the airport.
