MADISON (WKOW) -- Officers from Iowa County and Arena responded to a hit and run on highway 12 near Pecks Wednesday night just before 10 p.m.
Authorities say the driver, Scott Neefe, 24, fled the scene before his vehicle left the roadway and damaged a wire fence and trees on Coon Rock Road near Arena. He then fled his vehicle on foot.
Neefe was apprehended more than 2 hours later and was evaluated by Arena EMS for hypothermia. He was then transported to Sauk County.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
