MADISON (WKOW) -- Dozens of University of Wisconsin-Madison students gathered Friday evening to show their support for the Newtown, Connecticut community.
The vigil started at 5 p.m. on Bascom Hill. Students lit candles for each of the victims and handed out smaller candles for everyone in attendance to hold. "A few people talked to try and make everyone feel better," Laney Thompson said.
Information for the gathering was posted on Facebook hours before. The organizer urged students to come together and show Wisconsin's support for those affected by the tragedy.
