NEWTOWN, CT (WKOW) -- Authorities say the gunman in the Connecticut school rampage shot his mother multiple times in the head on Friday before heading to the elementary school where he shot and killed 26 people, including 20 children.

The medical examiner says Adam Lanza also died of a gunshot wound to the head that was self-inflicted.
