NEWTOWN, Conn. (WKOW) -- The nurse at Sandy Hook Elementary Schools says she and a secretary stayed hidden in a supply closet for almost four hours Friday.
Sally Cox told ABC's "Good Morning America" Monday she knew "something terrible was happening" and stayed hidden for hours even after the school massacre had ended. Twenty children and six adults were killed.
Cox says she heard loud popping sounds and the school secretary called out to her. She says she went under her computer desk and the gunman came into the office. Cox says she could see his legs from the knees down, his boots facing her desk. The he left and closed the door.
Cox says then the secretary raced into her office, they called 911 and hid in the closet.
