JACKSON COUNTY (WQOW) - The man who was shot and wounded by a homeowner earlier this month in Jackson County has now been charged with injuring officers who tried to arrest him.
Police went to arrest Robert Schafer a week ago at a home in Black River Falls. Despite being shot in the stomach several days earlier, they say he tried to escape out of a window and continued to resist arrest.
After a prolonged struggle deputies tased him a total of five times until he finally gave up. Two deputies were treated at the hospital for injuries.
Four days earlier Schafer was shot in the Village of Taylor when he showed up at the home of an ex-girlfriend who had a restraining order against him.
