MADISON (WKOW) -- There will be no night hunting for Wisconsin's Chippewa tribes.
A federal judge blocked the tribes from hunting deer at night this season.
A commission that administers their off-reservation rights initially authorized the tribal hunters in November to go after deer at night.
Even though it counters the state's ban on the practice, the commission argued it was okay because wolf hunters took to the woods at night.
But the judge said the tribes overstepped their authority.
