MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Streets Department says it has a plan in place to deal with Tuesday's snowfall, along with the winter storm expected to hit Wednesday night and all day Thursday.
Here's a note passed along Tuesday morning from Streets Superintendent Chris Kelley:
"The Streets Division has applied salt brine to our main arterials
today. We are currently getting ready to deploy 32 trucks on our salt
routes as snow has started to fall in portions of the City. We
anticipate keeping crews on the salt routes through the evening rush
hour at which time we will evaluate the need to have staff stay into the
evening.
In addition to attacking today's snowfall, we are fully prepared for the
storm that is predicted to hit Madison on Wednesday and Thursday. We
have ample supplies of brine, salt, and sand. In addition, all of our
trucks are ready for plowing operations should the storm act as
predicted.
We plan to conduct regular refuse, large item and recycling operations on Thursday."
