Boyd (WQOW) - A woman is rushed to the hospital after a fire in Chippewa County Tuesday morning.

It broke out around 7:30 a.m. at a mobile home on County Highway D, north of Boyd. Fire officials say a woman, her 1-year-old child, and the child's grandmother all escaped the burning home.

The mother was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is not known, but the Boyd Fire Department says it started near a wood stove.

The home is a total loss. The Red Cross is helping the family.
