BELOIT (WKOW) -- Beloit police arrested a man they say tried to test the school's security system.
Tuesday afternoon around 2:30, police say Dwight Miller, 58, who lives near Converse Elementary School, tried to get into the school.
Converse Elementary School Principal, Stephanie Jacobs says a staff member noticed the man at a locked door and reported him to the office. The school then notified police.
Miller was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Police say he was also on probation at the time.
In a letter that was sent to parents and guardians, Jacobs says "at no time was any child or staff member in danger."
