Eau Claire (WQOW) - A former deputy chief in Eau Claire plans to run for city council.
Eric Larsen was a member of the Eau Claire Police Department for nearly three decades. He retired earlier this year. The Eau Claire City Clerk says Larsen has turned in some paperwork to run for one of five at-large city council seats up for election this spring.
Steven Judd, who works in the Eau Claire County District Attorney's Office and Michael Turner are also interested in getting their names on the spring ballot.
Current council members Catherine Emmanuelle and Mark Olson plan to seek another term, while Larry Balow, Jackie Pavelski and Thomas Vue are not running for re-election.
Paperwork to become a candidate is due by 5:00 PM on January 2nd.
