Eau Claire (WQOW) - Passengers on an Eau Claire city bus were forced to make an
unexpected transfer today.
Snow and
slick roads caused a garbage truck and a city bus to collide this morning on Summit Street.
Damage was minor to both vehicles and no one was hurt. Another bus was
eventually brought in to take passengers to their destination. Police say its
just one example of weather related problems they've been dealing with.
"We started the day
out actually a little bit better this morning than we thought we were going to
with rush hour. It actually was fairly good, a few slide ins, a couple of minor
fender benders. But unfortunately with conditions changing as they have been today,
things have been getting progressively worse," said Sgt. Bruce
VanValkenburg of the Eau Claire Police Department.
Police are
also asking drivers to limit travel unless it is absolutely necessary.
