St. Croix County (WQOW) - The former treasurer of a parent school group will spend time in jail for stealing tens-of-thousands of dollars.

Nichole Haugen, from Hudson, was sentenced Wednesday to a month in jail. She must also repay the money she was accused of stealing from the parents group at Willow River Elementary School in Hudson.

Investigators say an audit showed more than $34,000 was missing. Haugen must also do community service and apologize to the parent group.
