MADISON (WKOW) -- The state's semi-private economic development agency narrows the field in its search for a CEO.

A search committee for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., has narrowed a pool of 100 applicants to three finalists. The finalists are Ralph Howard of Random Lake, Michael Jenkins of Cedarburg and Jason Jensen of Madison.

Governor Scott Walker named a CEO search committee in September to work on replacing Paul Jadin.

The WEDC has had problems ever since its creation last year. A pair of independent reviews of WEDC's operations identified a number of problems and issued a series of recommendations, including upgrading computer software and hiring more people to better track loans and other financial transactions.

Walker replaced the state Department of Commerce with the WEDC, which spearheads Wisconsin's job creation efforts.
