Ellsworth (Press Release from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department) - On December 23, 2012 at about 7:40 a.m. the Pierce County Sheriff's Department was notified of a one car crash on US Highway 10 near the intersection with County Highway J. Upon arriving it was determined a westbound vehicle operated by Andrew Francis Lacoursiere, 49 years of age, from rural Ellsworth left the road and struck two trees and two concrete lawn ornaments.

An exact time of the crash could not be pin-pointed and it is believed Lacoursiere remained trapped in the vehicle for some time in single digit temperatures.

Lacoursiere was transported to Regions Hospital by the Ellsworth Area Ambulance Service with undetermined injuries. The Ellsworth Area Fire Department also assisted at the scene with extrication efforts.
