Man arrested for drug possession after crash

GRANT COUNTY (WKOW) -- The Grant County Sheriff's Department says it arrested a man for having illegal drugs after he was involved in a crash.

Officers say they were called to a crash on County Highway A near Grancy Road in Ellenboro Township just after 1 p.m. Sunday. They say 28-year-old Dustin Caya of Bagley lost control of his truck and hit a power pole.

Deputies say a K9 searched Caya's vehicle and found crystal meth and marijuana. Officers say Caya also had a loaded handgun in his pocket for which he did not have a concealed carry permit. They searched his truck and found other drug paraphernalia, along with six other loaded handguns and rifles including an AR-15 assault rifle.

Deputies say Caya refused any emergency treatment before being taken to the Grant County Jail.
