MADISON (WKOW) -- If your street is still covered in ice, it's likely going to remain that way for a while.
Madison street crews wrapped up their plowing and sanding operations from last week's blizzard late this afternoon. While most of the main streets are now completely clear, many side streets still have hard-packed cover of ice.
Crews spent the day sanding the hills, turns and intersections on those streets but will now be removing the ice.
Streets superintendent Chris Kelley says his crews have been working around the clock since the 19th and he wanted to them the holidays off.
