MOUNT PLEASANT (WKOW) -- One person is dead after a fire broke out early Christmas morning at a home in Mount Pleasant. Police in Racine County are investigating the cause.

WISN-TV reports that firefighters were called to the home Tuesday at about 12:30 a.m. They found flames and heavy smoke pouring out of the house when they arrived.

It took firefighters 15 minutes to reach the only person inside the home. That person was declared dead on the scene.
