Eau Claire County closes snowmobile trails

Eau Claire (WQOW)- The recent lack of snow has Eau Claire County closing its snowmobile tracks until we get more powder.

Trails will be closed starting Wednesday because there just isn't enough snow.  The Eau Claire County Snowmobile Association says last week's opening of the trails was the earliest in the last few years.

"With our snow conditions, we thought that snow was going to last better than it did and it's not lasting that well so that's why we've decided to close trails," says Eau Claire County Snowmobile Association's Jerry Vetterkind.

Those trails will be opened up once we get more snow and conditions improve.
