Argument over Christmas gift lands one person in jail

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police were called to the 1700 block of Onsgard Road Sunday night for a disturbance involving a man with a gun.

As officers arrived, they immediately noticed a male running from an apartment building.  That male, 23-year-old Paul Horne, refused to stop when ordered by officers.  The suspect jumped a chain-linked fence, but was caught quickly by police.

Individuals interviewed described Horne battering a 30-year-old woman in the hallway of her apartment.  They also reported seeing Horne with a gun case and mention the gun during the disturbance.

Officers took Horne into custody and recovered marijuana, money, ammunition, and a 12-guage shotgun.  He faces charges of possession of a firearm by felon, possession of THC with intent to deliver, battery, disorderly conduct, and a probation hold.

No one suffered any significant injuries.  The argument between the two parties was allegedly over the fact that the victim was out shopping too long and purchased the wrong Christmas gift.
