MADISON (WKOW) -- The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District works with local police departments to improve safety in schools.

They work with police departments from the City of Middleton, Dane County and the Village of Cross Plains.

They're working to improve safety all year, but this comes in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
