Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - While most of us bundled up for the cold Tuesday, some were losing layers for charity.
Big Brothers Big Sisters held its annual Polar Bear Plunge Tuesday at The View on Lake Wissota.
More than 30 jumpers braved the frigid waters to bring in close to $6,000 for the mentoring program. Jumpers told us why they took the plunge.
"Cause we've never done it before, and it looks fun and it's for a good cause," brothers Jerad and Jace Burch say. After the plunge: "That was awesome! It was so cool, that was awesome! I couldn't swim. I couldn't breathe."
Big Brothers, Big Sisters says the single digit temps lowered jumper turnout this year, but the need remains great for volunteers to mentor kids this year. If you'd like to volunteer, donate or get involved click here to find out how.
