Madison (WQOW) -- This past weekend, Stanley native and Eau Claire Regis graduate Connor Miller returned to the state to face Wisconsin.
Miller is leaving his mark on his Samford squad. He has started all 14 games this season, averaging 7.1 points a game. Maybe most impressive, the sophomore was named a team captain. On a Bulldogs squad devoid of seniors, Miller's leadership has been vital.
"Each game that I play, I get more and more confidence in my game. Being a team captain, I've got to get these younger guys to believe," says Miller. "Right now is a time in the season where we are about halfway through and about to start conference play. And these younger guys are starting to believe that we're not freshman anymore and we can help out and contribute to the team and winning."
Miller and Samford next play Chattanooga on Saturday.
