Barron (WQOW) - An area company agrees to pay to settle allegations of safety violations.
An employee of the Jennie-O/Turkey Store processing plant in Barron had his arm cut off in an accident at work. It happened while Shawn Redman was cleaning equipment. OSHA inspectors found 18 safety violations at the plant.
Jennie-O has now paid $238,000 in penalties. The firm has also agreed to make safety improvements at its plant in Barron and another large facility in Minnesota.
