Pierce County (WQOW) - Snow is being blamed for causing a fatal crash in Pierce County.
The crash happened Thursday morning around 7:30 AM north of Ellsworth on Highway 65 and County Highway J. Sheriff's deputies say Katherine Kennedy, of River Falls, was traveling north when she lost control of her car on a curve and was hit by an oncoming van. Kennedy died. She was 25-years old. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Deputies say the roadway was slippery because of light snow.
