No alcohol sales after halftime at Saturday's Packers game

GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- For the first time, the Packers announced that they will be cutting alcohol sales short at Saturday's playoff game against the Vikings.

That's because anytime the Vikings are in town, fans have gotten out of control, ejected and in some cases arrested.

So Green Bay police are stepping up security and turning off the beer taps early.

For the first time ever, alcohol sales inside the stadium will stop at the end of half time.

"We've found out that since it's a divisional game and it's a night game people tend to consume more alcohol at higher levels," says Lt. Kevin Warych of the Green Bay Police Department.

Police will also be stepping up security.

They won't let people into the stadium who are intoxicated before the game, and they're advising fans to get there early because of longer lines to get in.
