Rusk County (WQOW) - Murder charges are filed for this week's shooting death of a woman in Rusk County.
Donald Lazar was formally charged Friday with first degree intentional homicide. Lazar, 65, is accused of shooting and killing his wife Darlene. She was also 65.
According to the charges, the couple was arguing over property taxes Sunday night when he grabbed her by the throat. Detectives say Donald told them she started to call police, so he shot and wounded her with a .22 caliber rifle.
Investigators say he stated that because he was already in trouble for shooting her and because he had 'had enough' he decided he might as well shoot her again. He then allegedly shot her in the temple.
Donald is due back in court on Thursday. He remains in jail. Funeral services for Darlene are scheduled for Saturday.
