Eau Claire (WQOW) - A local man who admitted posing as a fundraiser for a charity to get money for himself has been sentenced in Eau Claire.
Police say a retired police officer overheard Michael George soliciting donations for the Epilepsy Foundation at an Eau Claire church. That officer happened to be a board member of the foundation.
George was sentenced Thursday to 100 days in jail. He must also pay restitution and fines of more than $6,000.
