Eau Claire (WQOW) - A woman accused of taking a rough and dangerous drive with her young son in the car will spend 1.5 months behind bars.
Michele Beckstead of Eau Claire was sentenced Thursday for 3rd offense driving while under the influence.
In June her 11-year-old son told police that Beckstead drove him from downtown Eau Claire to their home off of Highway 37.
During the trip he said Beckstead stopped and got some pills from her brother. He said she then drove onto a sidewalk, over a sign, hit the curb several times, and fell asleep while driving.
Besides jail time, Beckstead lost her driver's license for two years and must get an alcohol and drug assessment.
