MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin's First Lady, Tonette Walker announced a special celebration Friday in honor of the year of the veteran.
She was joined by Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary John Scocos to announce the "Faces of Freedom" event to celebrate the wrap up of 2012, which Governor Walker has designated The Year of the Veteran.
The First Lady told 27 News, "It's a wonderful way for us to put a modern kind of spin on a military ball and kind of have an evening of fun for families and anyone who really supports the military."
The "Faces of Freedom" event will take place Saturday, March 2nd at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee.
Tickets cost $50 and will be open to the public. Proceeds will benefit the Wisconsin Veterans Museum.
