Sheriff's Office:
The driver of the semi was
Daryl Jordan, 69 years of age, of Holcombe.
The pedestrian was John V
Murinchack Jr, 46 years of age of New
York.
On Friday, January 4th,
2013 at 6:21 p.m.. the Dunn County Emergency Communications Center received a
report of semi versus a male riding a bicycle on State Highway 85, 1/10th
of a mile west of 40th Avenue in the town of Peru.
The Dunn County Sheriff's
office, Durand Fire Department, Durand Ambulance, Dunn County First Responders
as well as Mayo One Helicopter responded to the scene.
Based on the initial
investigation it appears the male was walking east on State Highway 85 pushing
his bicycle, the semi was also traveling east on State Highway 85. The male was
walking on the edge of the road with the flow of traffic and did not have any
lights or reflective clothing. The rear reflector of the bicycle was bent up
under the seat and would not be visible. It appears that as the semi passed the
male he was struck by the trailer. The male was flown to Mayo-Rochester with
non-life-threatening injuries.
The semi driver was not
injured.
Wisconsin State Patrol
responded to complete a post crash inspection of the commercial motor vehicle.
The crash remains under
investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff's Office.

Dunn County (WQOW)- Emergency crews were needed along a Dunn County highway Friday night when a semi struck a man on the side of the road.
It happened just before 6:30 p.m. on Highway 85, west of 40th Avenue in the town of Peru.
According to the Dunn County Sheriff's Office the man was walking east on Highway 85 pushing a bicycle. Officials say he did not have any lights or reflective clothing. The semi was also traveling east.
As the semi passed the man it appears he was stuck by the trailer. The man was flown to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The semi driver was not injured. No names have been released.
