Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - A suspect has been arrested in a reported armed robbery in Chippewa Falls. The Chippewa Falls Police Department says Jesse LaForest was arrested in connection with armed home robbery on New Year's Day.
Michael Ferguson reported a robbery involving multiple subjects entering his residence on January 1st, 2013 at 5:32 pm. Firearms are confirmed to have been present during the robbery and items were stolen from the residence. No shots were fired.
LaForest was arrested on Friday, after the Chippewa County SWAT team executed a search warrant. Police say there is an ongoing cooperative investigation between the City of Chippewa Falls Police Department, the Village of Lake Hallie Police Department, the Chippewa County Sherriff's Office, and the West Central Drug Task Force into this incident and more arrests are possible. The investigation at this point leads police to believe that there is no danger to the community at large.
