Eau Claire (WQOW) - Two minds are better than one. That's why an Eau Claire committee could reach out for input on how to finance a performing arts center.
That center would be one piece of the Confluence Project, which is being proposed for downtown Eau Claire. The entire project, complete with student housing and retail space, could cost more than $85 million. Monday, the Eau Claire City Council Economic Policy Advisory Committee met to discuss contacting the Wisconsin Downtown Action Council.
The WDAC is a statewide organization designed to help grow a community's downtown. The Eau Claire committee is planning to reach out for creative ideas on how other communities, like Green Bay, Appleton and La Crosse, financed a performing arts center and how that facility impacts other businesses.
