Stanley-Boyd (WQOW) - An area school district is changing banks after an account was apparently hacked.
The Stanley-Boyd School district's payroll account had $150,000 taken in November. Some of the money was recovered but the school district says Anchor Bank is charging the district's account for the rest. The district has now closed its savings account at Anchor Bank and says its looking for a new bank with a higher degree of security to handle Stanley-Boyd's checking and payroll accounts.
The district has filed a claim with its insurance company which is now investigating. A digital forensics company started examining the school district's systems this week.
Anchor Bank has said there's no evidence its systems were compromised. The FBI is also investigating.
