MADISON (WKOW) -- A former worker filed a complaint over the abrupt closure of the Golden Guernsey dairy plant in Waukesha.

The complaint says employees weren't given any warning.

The plant closed over the weekend, leaving more than 100 people without jobs.

State law requires companies with 50 or more employees to provide 60 days notice when there's going to be a closure or mass layoff.

The state Department of Workforce Development is now looking into the complaint.

The Golden Guernsey plant is owned by Los Angeles-based private equity firm OpenGate Capital. The company filed for bankruptcy in Delaware on Tuesday afternoon.
